Project Hello Genie: A Lifelong Bond of Giving

India is a place where inequality of resources starts right from the moment a child is born. There are excesses and deficiencies( can we get a better word) all in one place. This un-balancedness has always bothered me and I wanted to do something about it.

I have conceptualised this “Exchange” by pairing privileged children with underprivileged children, fostering a relationship of giving, over an extended period.

It is basically a pairing process where each privileged child commits to giving all the items they don’t need any longer to their paired partner. These can include educational supplies, clothing, personal items, and other essentials.

This will cultivate a culture of long-term philanthropy and mutual growth, where privileged children learn the value of giving, and underprivileged children receive sustained support that can significantly alter the trajectory of their student life.

For Privileged Children it develops a sense of responsibility, empathy, and global citizenship. They gain valuable life lessons and a deeper understanding of societal inequalities.
